Yellowjackets are a type of wasp. They use their camouflaged carapace to blend in with bees to make it easier to kill the hive. These wasps, like most wasps, prefer beehives because they have insect, larva, and honey, three things wasps love to eat. Wasps actually have the ability to remember individual human faces. So if you anger a wasp, it will remember you specifically and will even avoid other humans to go directly for you. The Great black hornet, however, is very aggressive and very, very large. It can grow up to about an inch in size and its sting can render a person useless, on the ground in pain. If you disturb a nest of them you risk being killed by a swarm. If more than 20 or so hornets sting you, it’s not good, you will be in the ER for a while and you may not survive if more than that stings you. People have died from just a hand full of stings but normally they are elderly or very young.
